I am a highly qualified Maths tutor with over 20 years of teaching experience and a strong academic background, including a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Mathematics, and a PGCE and PGDip in teaching. I hold Qualified Teacher Status and have been DBS checked. My teaching experience spans a range of settings, including five years in a secondary school teaching all ages and abilities from 11-18, and seven years teaching A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics in a successful FE college. Most recently, I worked as a teacher educator, training new Maths teachers to gain Qualified Teacher Status. I have also tutored privately part-time throughout my career and am now focusing on tutoring full-time. I'm available to tutor locally in person though most of my tutoring now is done online. I believe in being flexible in my approach to tutoring and always try to adapt to the needs of each student. I find that building confidence in the subject is key to helping people succeed and making studying more enjoyable. My areas of specialism include A Level Maths and Further Maths, but I also take on GCSE students at Foundation or Higher level. I am familiar with the level 2 qualifications in Further Maths. In particular, GCSE students planning to go on to A Level benefit greatly from tutoring that secures a great grade at GCSE while also focusing specifically on developing the skills needed at A Level.
